Our Leather Facility
Over the past four years, The National Beef® tannery in St. Joseph, Missouri has undergone a complete renovation. The plant receives hides only from the National Beef processing facilities that are located in Dodge City and Liberal, Kansas and Brawley, California. We've installed back-to-back green fleshing systems in our beef processing facilities to help improve the consistency of our product. Consistency in hide supply sets the foundation for a consistent quality product.
To our wet blue leather facility, we have added a proprietary drum infrastructure, consisting of forty drums and installed a new control center system to monitor every aspect of the plant. We have updated the hide handling system for improved production efficiency. These, along with a fully automated production process, play a key role in eliminating subjectivity and human error.
We have made essential environmental upgrades to our existing systems at the plant. This ensures not only the sustainability of the facility-but the cleanliness and safety of the plant. Once complete, in early 2014, our facility will be the largest, most technologically advanced wet blue leather plant in the world.
Our unique and innovative system for wet blue processing ensures a consistent, high quality end product produced at a world class processing facility that is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliant.
